| Day 1 Los Angeles - Jeju Island | top | Depart for Jeju Island via Seoul.
| | Day 2 Jeju Island | top | Upon your arrival in Jeju Island, you will be met by a Five Oceans Tours Program Manager. Begin a city tour of this volcanic island, visiting the Jeju Folklore & Natural History Museum. Travel back in time walking through the small village area, filled with thatched houses and local crafts. Continue on to visit Yongduam Rock, a volcanic rock created from an eruption 2 million years ago that is 10meters high and 30meters long. The rock is shaped similar to a dragon, hence the name.
| | Day 3 Jeju Island (B / L) | top | Begin the day with a visit to Jusang Jeolli Rocks along the Daepo coast. The spectacular 2km stretch of coastline is lined with hexagonal rock columns of bizarre formations resulted from the rapid cooling and contracting of lava. Photo opportunities are plenty as you travel along this coastline. Next, visit the Spirited Garden Bunjae Artpia, the world's largest botanical garden, filled with more than 100 variety of trees, some dating back more than 300 years. The garden boasts a collection of 10,000 Jeju wildflowers, orchids, and other plants unique to the region. Enjoy a delicious treat at an indigenous tangerine farm. The Cheonjiyeon Waterfalls are breathtaking and a must stop. The last stop on your sightseeing tour is at Yakchunsa, the largest temple in Asia with an 18 ton bell.
| | Day 4 Jeju Island - Busan - Daegu (B / L) | top | Travel on the Mysterious Road (Tokkaebi Road) where it will feel as if your vehicle is rolling uphill while the engine's turned off. Arrive at manjanggul Cave, one of the finest lava tunnels in the world as well as a designated natural monument. Also visit the lighthouse at the end of Seobjikoji, located at the end of the eastern shore of the island. Transfer to the airport in the afternoon for a short flight to Busan. Upon your arrival, transfer by coach to Daegu. The rest of the evening is free for you to relax at the hotel.
| | Day 5 Daegu - Gyeongju - Haeinsa (B / L) | top | Depart for Gyeongju in the morning, deemed the museum without walls as the city has preserved a vast amount of significant and fascinating historical heritages. Your Gyeongju tour highlights include Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, the Gyeongju National Museum and Cheomgseongdae Astronomical Observatory. Enjoy a visit to the Gayasan National Park before arriving into Haeinsa City.
| | Day 6 Haeinsa - Andong - Gangneung (B / L) | top | The morning begins with a visit at Haeinsa Temple, founded by King Ae-Jang of the Silla Dynasty in 802. The temple is famous for it's Tripitaka Koreana which is comprised of 81,341 wooden block printings made to repulse the Mongolian Army Invasion with the support of Buddha. Continue onto visit Andong Hahoe Village which has preserved the architectural style of the Joseon Dynasty. The local villagers still reside here to this day. Arrive in Gangneung in the late afternoon, a city that blends traditional culture with the East Sea.
| | Day 7 Gangneung—Mt. Seoraksan—Seoul (Meals: B, L) | top | Mt. Seoraksan National Park is considered a Biosphere Preservation District and has an abundance of rare species. Tour Sinheungsa, an ancient temple built by a great monk named Jajangyulsa and Gwongeumseong, the site of the ruins of a castle, both located inside the park. Return to Seoul in the evening
| | Day 8 Seoul - Suwon - Seoul (B / L) | top | Take an excursion to Suwon this morning, first passing by Cheongwadae, the Presidential Residence and the Jongmyo Royal Shrine, a place of worship for the kings of the Joseon Dynasty. Also visit Changdeokgung Palace, which served as the main residential palace of the royal family. Arrive at Hwaseong Fortress, a fortress planned and built by using the ideas of practical science. Return to the city in the late afternoon.
| | Day 9 Seoul - Los Angeles (B) | top | Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before transferring to the airport for your departure flight. or continue your tour with one of our popular optional extensions.
