Depart on your transpacific flight for Taipei.

Day 2 Taipei	top
Arrive Taipei in the evening. Airport meet and greet by your local representative. Transfer to the hotel to check in. The rest of the evening is free for you to explore the many night markets, sampling the local snacks.

Day 3 Taipei – Sun Moon Lake (B)

Depart for Sun Moon Lake, situated 762 meters above sea level in the lofty mountains of Central Taiwan. Highlighted sights on your itinerary include famous Wenwu Temple also called Literature Warrior Temple dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen and to Kuan Ti as Master of Sword, peacock garden, Holy Monk Shrine and Tse-En Pagoda. After touring around Sun Moon Lake, proceed to the hotel to check in.

Day 4 Sun Moon Lake – Tainan – Kaohsiung (B)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before driving to Tainan City, the ancient capital of Taiwan. Being situated on the southwestern coastal plains of the island, the city enjoys a warm climate year-round. It is the island's oldest and now fourth largest city. With its long history, Tainan is rich in historical sites and cultural heritage. You will visit Koxinga Shrine, Chihkan Lou and Chimei Museum. Depart for Kaohsiung City in the early afternoon, the second largest city in Taiwan. The tour will take you to Love River and Lio Ho Night Market.

Day 5 Kaohsiung – Kenting - Taitung (B)

Depart for the southern tip of Taiwan to Kenting National Park. The 37 mile coral-rimmed shoreline along three sides of the park provide its main attractions. Visit the Oluanpi light house, Maopitou coastal scenic area and Kenting forest recreation area. Continue to Taitung via the Southern Link Highway in the late afternoon. Tonight's hotel features an in-house spa and hot spring facility for you to use.

Day 6 Taitung – East Coast National Scenic Area – Hualien (B)

After breakfast, it will be an exciting East Coast National Scenic Tour. The East Coast National Scenic Area, known as "Taiwan's last unspoiled land", stretches 168 kilometers down the east coast of the island. Weathering, erosion, and accumulation have produced a wide range of landforms here. Our tour will stop at Siaoyeliou, Sansientai, Stone Steps, and Cave of the Eight Immortals. Proceed to Hualien in the late afternoon.

Day 7 Hualien – Taroko Gorge – Taipei (B)

    Today has been dedicated to visiting Taroko National Park. Taroko Gorge is an exceptionally beautiful, narrow ravine created by the Liwu River which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. A road carved into sheer walls of rock winding its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above, while hundreds of feet below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders. Stops will be made at Eternal Spring Shrine, Swallow Grotto, Tunnel of Nine
    Turns, Marble Bridge, and Tienshiang. Return to Taipei via Su-Hwa Highway and Hsuei-Shan Long Tunnel (12.9 Kms) to arrive at Taipei in the evening. Check into your hotel.

Day 8 Taipei (B)

Today's Taipei city tour includes the Presidential Building, Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, Martyr's Shrine, Chinese Temple, and the National Palace Museum. With an area of 250,000 square meters, Chiang Kai-shek's Memorial hall is located in the city center and has become the landmark of the city. The white building with its blue tiled roof and red flowers in the front garden symbolizes the red, white and blue colors of the national flag and it spirit of freedom, equality and brotherhood. Resting on the slope of the Qing Mountain is Martyrs' Shrine, symbolizing the martyrs' brave spirit. Finally, the highlight is the National Palace Museum, which houses the world's largest collection of priceless Chinese artifacts and treasures, spanning China's nearly 5,000-year history. This evening, you can venture to one of the many night markets in the city, perhaps sampling some local snacks and drinks.
